Easter Egg Competition
The Friends Of Ravenswood have organised an egg-citing 'Decorate an Egg Competition' for next week.
Eggs can be brought into school from Monday 7th April up until Thursday 10th. These will be displayed in the main corridor and the winners will be announced on Friday. It costs £1 to enter. There will be a winner for each year group. Get cracking!
New Trees
We’re really grateful to one of our parents who came in to paint lovely trees to transform our main entrance. It’s been really lovely to hear the children commenting on how much they like them.
Ravenswood Cup Winners
In alignment with Newcastle United FC, something very special happened for our school football team this year. For over 70 years the ‘Bob Maddison’ cup tournament has taken place. In it’s history, Ravenswood Primary has never won. That all changed this week after a dramatic comeback in the second half led the team to victory! Thank you very much to Mr Chapman for organising the team, leading lots of football practice sessions and taking the children to lots of events. He’s looking into a bus tour of Heaton – we’ll keep you posted.
Its lovely to be part of a school that takes part in so many sporting events and gives opportunities to lots of children. So far this year children have taken part in over 20 different tournaments and been the winners of more than half of them.
Non-Uniform Winners
Congratulations to the ‘Resilient tree’ – (Blue team) – house who gained the most amount of house points this half term and will be able to come to school in non-uniform next Friday.
Easter Egg Hunt
Next week, children will have the chance every day to earn a ‘golden ticket’ for working hard towards our Ravenswood vision. A child from every class each day will be granted a ‘golden ticket’ for a special Easter Egg hunt that will take place next Friday afternoon. Good luck everyone – the Easter bunny is watching!
School Council Success!
Our fantastic school councillors have been hard at work, reaching out to local companies to kindly request donations of items such as paint, plants, brushes, toys, chairs, and more — all to help make Ravenswood Primary an even brighter and more welcoming place for our children.
We’re excited to share that this morning, we received a wonderful donation from IKEA, who generously gifted us a variety of plants. These will soon be planted in our big garden beds, helping to make our outdoor spaces look beautiful and also supporting our local bees with plenty of pollen!
A huge well done to our School Council for their brilliant efforts!
