World Book Day

Thursday, 6th March, is World Book Day! We always enjoy the chance to dress up, but we don’t want anyone to feel pressured to buy new costumes or clothing. This year’s theme is “Snuggle Up with a Book”, so children (and staff!) are welcome to come to school in their pajamas.

We warmly invite parents to join their children for a special classroom activity. Parents of Key Stage 2 children are welcome from 9:00 AM, while parents of Key Stage 1 and Early Years children can join from 2:30 PM. Each session will last approximately 30 to 40 minutes. To ensure enough space for everyone, we kindly ask that only one family member per child attends.

School Disco:

Please see the message below from the Friends of Ravenswood:

“We are pleased to say that we will be holding discos for pupils in the final week of this half term!

on Tuesday, 18th February there will be a disco for Early Years (Nursery and Reception), 3.15-4.15pm.

On Thursday 20th February we will have discos for the rest of school.

KS1 (Y1 and 2) 3.25-4.25pm

KS2 (Y3-6) 4.45-5.45pm

We will send out booking details next week.

Within the booking system will be a request for you to volunteer at one/both/all of the events. All our events rely on volunteers so if we don't get enough we may not be able to run the discos. If you sign up to volunteer we will contact you if we then need you.”

Planetarium

Our year five children had a very special experience this week. As part of our space topic, @kielderobservatory brought the night skies to us with their pop-up planetarium that the whole class could fit in!
