Great Get Together
It was so lovely to welcome many families to school on Wednesday for our Great Get Together. We were so lucky to have wonderful weather. Thank you to all of our parents for working with us when handing children over. We hope you enjoyed our very talented school band. I think I put on around a stone in weight from all of the lovely food offered! 
Friends of Ravenswood (FOR) – non-uniform day
Thank you for supporting the FOR by bringing in chocolates and bottles for our upcoming Summer fair – Friday 27th June – starting at 2pm. We’re really hoping that we get the same weather for this occasion.
Film Club
A highlight of this week was being asked to do a staff cameo in Miss. Wicks’ film club. I can’t wait to see the final result – the children have been working really hard and I think there’s been a few staff appearances.
Shakespeare festival performance
Mr. Chapman has been leading a group of very talented year 5 and 6 children in rehearsing for Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. They will be performing next week at The People’s Theatre with the performance starting at 7pm.
Big Gig Sing
We’ve got some great singers at Ravenswood. Mrs Maddison has been leading the Key stage 2 choir who have been singing some fantastic 70’s bangers! Our children will be performing these songs at the Vertu Motors Arena at 1pm on Friday. Tickets are still available if you haven’t already purchased one.
Refugee week
Next week is Refugee Week and staff will be sharing activities in class to help children to understand the experiences of refugees around the world as well as taking part in an assembly. As well, our ‘Young Interpreters’ will visit Scotswood Gardens.

We’ve been asked to remind parents that the discount and return to school free delivery finishes on Sunday for class photographs.
