Hawkhirst Residential

This week our year 4 children have been away on a trip to Hawkhirst in rural Northumberland to take part in lots of exciting activities. Mrs Hood reported that all the children have been absolutely fantastic, slept well and have all been so enthusiastic!

Thank you very much to school staff for organising and taking the children.

Parents Evening

Next week we look forward to parents evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday (and Thursday for Nursery). If you have booked an appointment you will receive a reminder of your chosen date and time on Monday.

Children in Nursery - Year 2 (Nursery - Class 9) will be in the Key Stage 1 hall and Children in Years 3 – 6 (classes 10 – 21) will in the KS2 Hall.  We ask that all parents come in and leave through the main school entrance.

Vision Ambassadors

This afternoon the year 6 children will present to the School Council, who will be making the tough decision on who to elect as Ravenswood’s first ‘Vision Ambassadors’. There are five spaces available for each of our trees. Good luck everyone!

We’ll announce the winners of the Vision Ambassadors in next weeks Friday awards assembly.

Carabao Cup Final

There’s a lot of discussion and excitement on the school playground about the cup final this weekend. We’ll have our fingers crossed for a Newcastle victory and as our school is in the city, if Newcastle win, children can wear their Newcastle strip on Monday.

Hockey Team

Ravenswood's hockey team performed superbly this week at the annual hockey tournament in Longbenton. They narrowly missed out on qualification for the next round but showed great resilience and teamwork.

Well done!

      World Down Syndrome Awareness Day

The theme for this year's World Down Syndrome Day and Awareness week is all about support. Everyone needs support but the support we need may be different for everyone. One thing we can all agree on is that we all need a helping hand from time to time.

On Friday 21st March,  children can wear brightly coloured or mismatched socks to show their support and raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day.

Book Look

Thank you very much for coming into school this week to look at the children’s books. We had a really good turnout of parents and the children were very proud to show off all of their hard work and progress.
