Great Get Together

We were once again fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather for our Great Get Together. It was wonderful to bring our whole school community together, with children singing brilliantly alongside our fantastic school band. This event continues to be a special opportunity to share and celebrate one of our core values from our ‘Show Respect’ tree. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Shakespeare Festival

Last night, we were treated to a truly phenomenal performance of King Lear by our very own Ravenswood drama group. I’m sure all who attended would agree the children were outstanding—demonstrating confidence, talent and dedication on stage. A huge thank you to Mr Chapman and all the staff who supported the children in bringing this wonderful production to life.

Ravenswood Mathamagicians!

Earlier this week Ravenswood primary sent two teams take part in an inter-school Maths competition organised by Royal Grammar School Newcastle (facing more than 9 other schools across the city). I’m very proud to share that Ravenswood took first and second place!

Bikes and Scooters

We have received a number of concerns from parents, particularly those with younger children, regarding bikes and scooters being ridden across the playground. To ensure the safety of all members of our community, please can I remind families that all children—including younger siblings—must dismount from bikes and scooters when on school premises. Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe.

Parent Governor

Thank you to everyone who put themselves forward for nomination for the parent governor vacancy, and to all those who took the time to vote. I am delighted to share that Phillipa Brock has been elected and will be joining our school governing body. We look forward to working with her in this important role.
