School vision ambassadors

I’m delighted to introduce the first Ravenswood school ‘Vision Ambassadors’. We’re very proud of all of the children in year 6 who put themselves forward. Our school council had an exceptionally difficult decision to make as children made such compelling presentations. However, I think the children they chose will make fantastic ambassadors for the school.

Ravenswool is safe again!

There was absolute pandemonium, outrage and shock this week when Ravenswool our sheep statue was stolen! Thankfully the children in reception were able to quickly post wanted pictures around school which led to the capture of the culprits and the safe return of our sheep!

Dogs on the school playground

We understand that many families enjoy bringing their pets along when walking to and from school. However, we kindly ask that all pet owners ensure their dogs remain under control and that any mess is cleaned up immediately.

Unfortunately, we had an incident yesterday where a dog was brought onto the school grounds and its owner did not clean up after it. If we have further incidents like this we will have no choice but to ban dogs from the school playground. To keep our playground a safe and welcoming space for all children and families, please remember to dispose of any pet waste properly.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school environment clean and enjoyable for everyone!

Parents Evening

It was lovely so see so many parents at school on Tues / Wednesday for parents evening. We had lots of positive feedback and it was also helpful to have any concerns raised. Thank you to the Friends of Ravenswood for putting out spare uniform for children. If anyone needs any spare uniform please get in touch.

Uniform

On the theme of school uniform, since Christmas we’ve had over 60 unlabelled school jumpers and cardigans that have been put into lost property. Could we remind parents to please label children’s uniform clearly so that we can return it to them if they lose it.

Could we also remind parents: in terms of Jewellery, only small studs are allowed. We’ve had a number of children attend school with dangly/hooped earrings that we’ve had to ask them to remove so that they don’t get tangled or torn during playtime / PE lessons.

Cross country success

Well done to all of the children who took part in the cross country event this week. The children showed a lot of encouragement to everyone on the team. We were very pleased to take away the shield for the under 9 and under 11 runners who took first and second place in each event.

School contact

Could I remind parents that if they would like to contact school by email to please email the school office: office@ravenswoodprimary.co.uk or to contact sendco@ravenswoodprimary.co.uk and not personal staff email accounts. This is to ensure that we can make sure the emails get to the right staff members.
