Half term!
Congratulations to all our children for completing the longest half term of the academic year – eight weeks! It’s been a fantastic start at Ravenswood and we’re delighted with the progress the children have already made. There’s still plenty of exciting learning ahead, and we can’t wait to see what the next term brings. Enjoy a well-deserved break next week, make the most of the extra hour on Sunday, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in November refreshed and ready for more success!
EYFS visits
Our Nursery families enjoyed a Stay and Play session in the garden, taking part in autumn-themed activities such as planting bulbs, making leaf crowns, and decorating biscuits. It was lovely to have so many of you join us and share in the fun!

This afternoon we’re looking forward to welcoming reception families into school for our Learn Like Me session.
Charity cake sale
A group of very determined year 5 pupils have been incredibly pro-active, and very keen to update me on a lunch-timely basis, in putting together a cake/craft sale for their year group. The children have worked so well together in baking, creating and today (at lunchtime) helped to raise money for the children’s hospital. They’ve showed a lot of initiative and acted very responsibly – we’re very proud of them!

After half term ….
Discos!

Tuesday 4th November
FOR EYFS DISCO - 3:15 – 4:15pm
Children from Nursery and Early Years that are going to the disco will be asked to bring in their party clothes. At the end of the day, the children will get changed into party clothes and go to the hall to enjoy the Disco.
At the end of the disco, we’ll put cones out for parents to make a line to collect the children. We’ll ask each class to sit in the corner with their belongings and then bring 5 parents into the hall at a time to collect their children and exit via another door.
Thursday 6th November
FOR KS1 DISCO 3:25 – 4:25pm
Children that are going to the disco will be asked to bring in their party clothes. At the end of the day, the children will need to get changed into party clothes and go to the KS2 hall to enjoy the DISCO.
At the end of the disco – 4:25 – we’ll ask parents to queue at the car park entrance, come in to collect their children (a few at a time to avoid overcrowding) and then exit with their children via the fire exit next to the music room.
FOR KS2 DISCO 4:45 – 5:45pm
For the KS2 disco, children will queue with parents to enter the disco via the school carpark / old library entrance. Children will be signed in to the disco, being dropped off at the door.
At the end of the disco – 5:45 – we’ll ask parents to queue at the same place, come in to collect their children – asking each class to sit on a different bench with their belongings. The parents will come into the hall to collect and then exit with their children via the fire exit next to the music room.
