Christmas performances

Our children have been so busy this week carrying out lots of rehearsals for the upcoming shows next week. Below is a timetable for the start times of the shows. Please arrive into school via the main office. To ensure that everyone has a chance to see their child, as previously mentioned, there are only spaces available for two family members per child for one of the shows.

EYFS / KS1 Christmas Shows:

Nursery – Thursday 4th December 1:30 start

Nursery - Mon 8th December 1:30 start

Reception – Wed 10th December – 2.00pm start

Reception – Thurs 11th December – 9.30am start

Year 1 – Tues 9th December – 2.30pm start

Year 1 – Wed 10th December – 9.30am start

Year 2 – Tues 9th December  – 9.30am start

Year 2 – Thurs 11th December – 2.30pm start

Christmas singalong

This week, our school choir visited St Gabriel’s to spread some festive cheer with Christmas songs. Next Wednesday (10th), they’ll be performing carols at Grainger Market—a wonderful way to share the holiday spirit with the community!

But before that, we have another singalong planned:
On Tuesday (9th) after school, join us for a Christmas Singalong with our KS2 children on the steps outside the playground (near the main hall).

Details:

• Children who signed up to sing will be ready on the steps at hometime.
• Everyone is welcome—parents, carers, and friends—to come along and sing with us!
• We’ll be singing for about 20 minutes, so bring your best festive voices and join the fun!

Friends of Ravenswood Winter Fair

Date: Friday, straight after school
Entry: £1 per adult (cash only)

After school on Friday, children will leave as usual. Families can then return and enter the Winter Fair via either the car park entrance or the main school entrance from around 3:20 pm.
Please note: We need time to safely reunite all children with their families before opening the fair, so there may be a short wait. Thank you for your patience! While you wait, a luxury hot chocolate and coffee van will be available at the car park entrance.

Important: This is a cash-only event. We’ll have change available, but if you can bring small notes and coins, it would be greatly appreciated.

What’s Happening at the Fair?

• Meet Father Christmas
• Visit the Elves’ Workshop
• Browse the Toy Stall (donations still welcome)
• Enjoy lots of other fun activities!

Raffle Tickets

On Friday morning, the Friends of Ravenswood will be selling raffle tickets (£1 per strip) on the school playground near the main gates.

Prizes include:

• A signed England Rugby shirt
• Family ticket for The Wizard of Oz at The People’s Theatre
• Local restaurant vouchers
• Learn to Skate voucher for Whitley Bay Ice Rink
• Tumble Gymnastics sessions
• A £250 voucher from The Will Guys
• …and many more!

The raffle will be drawn at 4:30 pm in the Key Stage 2 hall (the one with the stage). If you’re not present, don’t worry—we’ll record winners and contact you next week. Please make sure your full name and class number are on your ticket so you don’t miss out!

Thank you for your support! Funds raised help us provide exciting additions to the school—like the new pirate ship playground for the children.
