Drama Club
The Drama Club is open to all Year 5 and 6 pupils.
Our aim is to share some of the basic techniques of drama with the pupils and help them to make the best use of an actor's three main tools: the voice, the face and the body.
We do this through drama games, improvisation and performance.
We always put on two shows a year and sometimes manage to produce a Christmas Musical as well.
The two shows are very different.
In Autumn we take part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival, performing a 30 minute abridged version of one of Shakespeare's great plays. This is performed in a professional theatre, usually Northern Stage, along with three other schools. This year we produced A Midsummer Night's Dream after successful performances of Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest and Henry V.
In Summer term we produce an improvised piece to share with our parents and friends.
Drama is great fun and very hard work. If you want any more information, contact Mr Maddison or Miss Williams.
