Ravenswood Primary School

Ravenswood Primary School

Week beginning 12th February 2024

On Friday we said goodbye to Miss Snell, who has been teaching in Class 11 and to Mrs Zanib, who has been a teaching assistant in Class 8 this year. Many thanks to them both for all of their hard work. Class 11 will be taught by Mrs Carr and Mrs Mason for the rest of this academic year.

Nursery have had a particularly exciting start to Lent, with two trips to the supermarket to buy the ingredients to them make some fabulous pancakes. I had the pleasure of joining them on Thursday and they were a credit to the school. Thanks also to the lovely staff at Tesco for making them feel welcome.

Father Jonathan visited lower Key Stage 2’s assembly on Thursday to help them to understand Lent and the run in to Easter. Thanks to him, as always, for sharing his precious time with school.

We had a visit from Julian Hughes on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. He talked to them about staying safe online, cyberbullying and being aware of their own digital footprint. These are always excellent sessions and it is good for the children to hear these messages from an external source.

The girls football team were out on Thursday after school playing in their league. They won two games and drew with Walkergate, who are top of the league and hadn’t dropped a point before meeting Ravenswood! Well done girls.

On Friday, our Reception classes attended their Careers Fair. We had lots of lovely helpers who came along to share what they did in their jobs. It was a great afternoon and a lovely end to this half term's topic - People who help us. Thanks to everyone who took part.

Well, that is the end of another half term. It has been a quiet six weeks, but loads of hard work has been happening.
