Ravenswood Primary School

Ravenswood Primary School

Week beginning 22nd November 2021

Your Black Friday weekend deal from Ravenswood is a short blog this week! I’m not sure how, “Don’t buy it unless you need it!” fits with the blog, I just hope that all you blog readers out there find it useful and good value!!

Christmas is really sneaking up on us. We have all suddenly realised that show week is just one week of rehearsals away and the panic is setting in. Stages going up, backdrops painted, lines being learned and costumes… well best not to say costumes to anyone! We will, of course, be ready to share our Christmas shows on time and tickets have been snapped up. If you haven’t applied for your tickets, then don’t panic. Due to COVID, we won’t be releasing unwanted tickets this year, so yours are there, if you need them.

Year 5 visited Jarrow Hall this week as part of their topic on Anglo Saxons. Thanks to the staff at Jarrow for three really interesting days.

On Thursday, A team of 16 athletes attended the city indoor athletics competition. There were some great performances. Well done to all who took part. I will let you know how we did as soon as I get the results.

I have been locked in my office all week holding this term’s Pupil Progress Meetings. I have spoken to the teachers about all 626 children in school and have been told about the great progress that is going on in classrooms. Thanks to all of the staff for knowing your children so accurately and thanks to the children for all of their hard work.

The Reading Challenge closed on Friday, so please return your child’s sheet to the teacher for the chance to win a prize. You should also have received your book orders from the Book Fair. If you haven’t, please contact the office and we will chase these up.

I did promise to announce the school’s charity for this year, but I have failed to catch up with School Council and so will be doing this next week. The long list of charities is impressive, so the choice will be difficult.

Right. Go and bag those deals, or possibly wait until next week and buy what you need!
